book: Blood Meridian

Blood Meridian is a book written by Cormac McCarthy that follows a nameless character, simply known as "the kid", through his journey during the American westward expansion.

Let me preface this by saying this is the best book I have ever read this far in the realms of fiction. Simply amazing. During the kids journey you will be exposed to extreme violence, unforgettable characters, acts, and stories, all told by prose that is poetically and lyrically beautiful. The most powerful and memorable story I have read in novel form.

There is a character who goes by the name "the judge" who is someone who you could never get out of your mind even if you tried. Not only is the most powerful and memorable, but it also has the most powerful and memorable character who comes in the form of "the judge".

There isn't really much to say other than, you will disturbed by the sheer brutallity of the violence and the abundance of it, you will be in awe by the prose, by the story and in the end when you have finished it, you will be left in a state of, "wow I cannot believe I just read something of that calibur".

In my eyes, a classic and will probably end up being one of the greatest books ever written.
